How We Met

When we first met in high school, we never thought we would still be together because you don’t hear of many couples staying together for so long. We hung out with different groups of friends and our paths never crossed until we met in chemistry class (I know – it’s such a cliché). Our first time speaking to each other was in class, either of us not really knowing much about the other person. We immediately connected and started to get to know each other. We have been together ever since.

Destination Wedding

When we got engaged, we knew we wanted to create a small, more intimate wedding. Our wedding took place on a beautiful sunny day in Los Cabos, Mexico. The weather was perfect and the scenery was more than we could have asked for. Our day went off without any major hitches due to the help and support we had from our wedding team and families. We had our amazing and emotional first look in one of the resorts many picturesque locations. Afterwards we utilized everything the location had to offer, taking couple and group photos all over the resort property. Our photographer scouted some fantastic locations that provided some real drama to our photos. Our ceremony and reception took place in a shared venue looking over the Pacific Ocean.

It was a great time to spend the week with our family and friends and to be able to share every moment with them leading up to and after the wedding. We couldn’t have asked for a better group to celebrate with us. We had the best time and still keep thinking about our wedding day!

Pre-wedding photoshoot

We did a secondary wedding shoot before our wedding day at an offsite location, and it was so worth it. We would recommend anyone doing a destination wedding to go out and explore the city to get some different shots that you might not be able to get on the actual wedding day.

We found a gorgeous beach called Lover’s Beach close to their wedding venue that we knew we had to use as our secondary shoot. However, when we hired a taxi to the city we discovered the military had closed the beach due to monstrous waves. Not sure what to do, we went around asking taxi boats if they’d take us until finally, someone suggested that we cab out to the resort close to Lover’s Beach and ask to use their private beach for the photoshoot. It would be similar to the original beach but not quite the same without the amazing archway of stones and cliffs. We did that, and arrived at the beach to discover that it was absolutely beautiful with massive smooth rock cliffs. The sun was setting on that side of the formations to give us stunning lighting as well. It was empty, gorgeous and lit perfectly. We lucked out!
