It’s a true Canadian love story – Mark and I met in a Tim Horton’s parking lot through a mutual friend. We had come across one another before but never really spoke to each other. It may sound kind of lame but about a month in I knew I was going to marry him. I had never felt that before with past boyfriends.

Our first date was The Amazing Spiderman and who would have known that five years later he would propose after a screening of Spiderman: Homecoming. Mark wrote up a mini script and with the help of our friends and family, he filmed his own post-credit scene of him traveling through the city to make it to the theatre to propose to his girlfriend. At the end of the movie, Mark went to the washroom which is a big no-no for Marvel fans. Little did I know he had the theatre ready to play the video as an additional post-credits scene – he also had our close friends and family there sitting behind us (without me knowing! talk about oblivious!). Once it ended he came out and proposed. We set our wedding date to two years from then and it went SO fast!

Our wedding went off without a hitch. Setting a two-year limit was the perfect amount of time to save, create our centerpieces and gifts and really enjoy the high of being engaged. Mizzy, from Winona Vine Estates, put everything together so perfectly and handled anything that came his way that evening. I will always recommend that venue. From the bottom of my heart, I thank EVERYONE who contributed and made our day special – to my incredible best friend and MOH that made our wedding cake from scratch to my friend Stephanie who took me along on the entire floral process (from going to the vendors, creating the design for the flowers and finishing our centerpieces!) and created all the bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres and centerpieces but I need to give a special shout out our incredible photographer Jenifer Boyce. I am forever grateful for stumbling across her and reaching out. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better – Jenifer is so organized, caring, detail-oriented and absolutely hilarious. From the day we met at our rainy engagement session to the little chats in between and finally the wedding – I just truly couldn’t have asked for anyone better.
