Horror fans, rejoice! There are ways to incorporate your love of all things spooky and scary into one of the most important days you’ll ever have: your wedding! You don’t have to go with the usual kitschy Halloween décor to get that horror movie feel. The locale alone can do wonders for the mood. So, to help you get started, here are a few locations to inspire you.
Bran Castle

Yes, the castle that housed Vlad the Impaler (who was the real life inspiration for Bram Stoker’s Dracula), is open for business when it comes to weddings. Bran Castle, located in Romania, is towered over by the Bucegi and the Piatra Craiului Mountains. It’s absolutely picturesque and, at the same time, eerie as anything. Carry a cross with you and watch out for vampires!
A Cemetery

Cemeteries, the last home of the dearly departed, might not sound like much of a romantic place to tie the knot. For fans of the macabre, though, it might do the trick. Pick a place that seems right for you: some of you or your guests might not feel comfortable being seated over the graves of the deceased. Take their feelings into consideration when planning, and always respect those who’ve passed on.
The Stanley Hotel

The inspiration behind Stephen King’s The Shining, this haunted hotel is simultaneously elegant and creepy. You can say your vows in the ballrooms, halls, or outdoors in view of the mountain range. If you’re especially brave, you can stay the night in the infamous room 217, were most of the ghostly activity takes place. Either way, make sure you have fun, because all work and no play makes… you know the rest, don’t you?
