DIY Wedding Cake Alternatives
There are many reasons to make your own wedding dessert option if cake is not your thing. You, or someone you know, might be an expert baker/dessert-maker or you’re doing it to save a little money. Nothing is cosier and says “family affair” like homemade food so here are some wedding dessert alternatives that really take the cake.

For a no-fuss wedding dessert that doesn’t even need to be baked, make a rice krispies tower cake. With simple and inexpensive ingredients, this is a cake that will please all your guests. You can decorate it however you like, with fruit and sprinkles or just leave it simple. Or, if you are feeling adventurous, make each layer with something different – some scrupulous ideas are candy bars, colorful marshmallows, peanut butter, cheerios and much more. One thing to consider: be aware of nut allergies that guests may have.

This option takes assembling only! You might not want the cake but you want the tower shape. Well, you’re in luck because with a tiered display stand, you can fill the empty layers with whatever dessert you want. You can stick with one type of dessert or have a smorgasbord of different treats, like donuts, tarts, cupcakes, mini pies, truffles, cookies – the list goes on. Just make sure that each treat is small enough so that guests can easily pick their favorites.

Make sure you have lots of different flavors; having enough choice will appeal to more of your guests and makes your ice cream tower look extra colorful. What a sweet ending to any celebration.
