Wedding Dresses on Rent the Runway

Have you heard of Rent the Runway? It’s the perfect solution to dress shopping for events. It works by renting out designer dresses (with insurance policies, of course) to its customer for a fraction of the retail price. We’ve all had the issue of spending too much money on a dress that we’re only going to wear once, but now you can solve that issue by using Rent the Runway!

The site has a pretty big selection of dresses from a number of different designers. The labels range from generally unheard of designers to evening wear big wigs like Marchesa and Badgley Mischka. Prices start at only $30 and go up to about $200—which is still less that most well-made retail dresses. You can even see customer photos and reviews, which is a great plus, since you’re shopping online. More than just event and cocktail numbers, the site even has a bridal shop! Here are our favourite bridal looks.

Retail for $2475. Rental for $120.

This gilded dress retails for nearly a whopping $3000 CDN. The customer reviews state that it’s made of solid, thick fabric and is true to size. One 54 year-old bride wore it on her wedding day and loved it. The dress seems to be flattering on everyone who wore it. Can you imagine the compliments you would get in this number?! Try it if you’re looking to shimmer, stand out, and be memorable.

Retail for $995. Rental for $30.

This dress is unbelievably available for $30. An astounding 86 customers have rented this dress, likely for the price. Overall, they gave it four out of five stars and said they all received a multitude of compliments. The only draw back was that the bottom half was narrow. It would be great for a wedding event like an engagement or bachelorette party. If you like to look chic and attention grabbing, this dress could work very well for you!

This Allison Parris dress is much more traditional for a wedding. A number of brides rented it for their big day! One said it was perfect for her small intimate wedding and another said it was very light and great for her outdoor wedding. Try this if your wedding isn’t too formal, you like a fun, fluffy dress, and you love the idea of paying $125 for your wedding gown.
